# Saving emails

You can save an email as a text file. The text file has the file extension EML. If you select multiple emails, an eml file will be created for each email. The eml files will be saved as zip archive then.

##### How to save an email:

2. Click the <span class="guibutton">**More actions**</span> icon <span aria-hidden="true" class="inlinemediaobject" id="bkmrk-">![](https://lawless.cloud/appsuite/help/images/appsuite_user_icon_actions.png)</span> in the toolbar or in the detail view. Select <span class="guibutton">**Save as file**</span>.
3. Fill in the details for saving the file.
